Help with DOFOTT, answered by the person who built it

Write to help@dofott.com and say what happened. You get a reply within one business day, from a person, in English or Turkish. Most questions are one of the ones below, and the answer may save you the wait.

No travel blocks appeared

• The event needs a place. An address or a place name Google Maps™ can find, in the event's location field. A video link or a room name is not a place.
• Its calendar has to be ticked. Your primary calendar is on by default; the others are on the settings page.
• A starting address has to be set. Without one there is nowhere to travel from.
• The event has to be ahead of you. DOFOTT looks from about an hour ago to sixty days out, and leaves the past alone.
• You need a plan. Without one DOFOTT writes nothing new and leaves your calendar as it is. The pricing page says what a month costs, and twelve meetings with a place a month are free.

A block looks wrong

Travel time comes from Google Maps™, with live traffic for driving and timetables for transit; minutes cannot be typed in, and that is deliberate. Every block's description has a link to a page for that one trip: travel mode, starting address, return trip, or no travel time for that event. When you move an event its block follows, usually within seconds and at most within fifteen minutes.

A block I deleted

It stays deleted. DOFOTT does not put back a block you removed, unless the event's location changes. Your own events are never touched.

The connection to Google dropped

DOFOTT emails you when that happens. Open the settings page and connect again; the blocks already in your calendar stay where they are.

Billing

What a month costs and when a card is charged is on the pricing page. Payments are handled by Polar, our reseller, so receipts and invoices come from them. A charge you did not expect comes here first: email, and it gets looked at the same day.

Removing DOFOTT

On the settings page, "Delete account and remove all DOFOTT blocks" takes every block out of your calendar, deletes your data and revokes DOFOTT's access at Google, immediately. What is held about you until then is on the privacy page.

What to put in the email

The date and time of the event, what DOFOTT did, and what you expected. Never the event's title or its guests: DOFOTT does not need them and does not keep them. For anything that is not a problem, the contact page says what to write where.
