DOFOTT

Add travel time to Sunsama

Published 17 September 2026

Sunsama has no travel-time feature. You plan the day by pulling meetings in and timeboxing tasks around them, but the drive to a meeting isn't on the calendar, so the plan looks roomier than the day will be. Travel time is an open request on Sunsama's own roadmap. DOFOTT writes a travel block before and after every event with a location straight into your Google account, and Sunsama shows those blocks with the rest of your day. Nothing to install in Sunsama.

Why Sunsama can't do this on its own

Sunsama is a daily planner on top of your calendars. It connects to Google, Outlook and iCloud, imports your meetings into the day's plan, and writes the tasks you timebox back to a calendar. The calendars stay where they are; Sunsama shows them and writes to them.

Nothing in that loop looks up a trip. A 10:00 meeting across town leaves 9:00 to 10:00 looking free, and a task you drop there will still be on your list when you're already in the car.

Travel time needs two things: a Google Maps lookup for the trip, and a busy block that lives in the calendar itself, so your planner, your colleagues and your phone all see it.

Three steps

  1. Check that your Google account is connected in Sunsama. If your Google events already show in Sunsama's calendar, this step is done.
  2. Connect DOFOTT. On dofott.com, click Connect Google Calendar and sign in with Google. Set your home address, a work address if you have one, and how you travel: driving, transit, walking or cycling.
  3. That's it. DOFOTT adds a travel block before and after every event with a location in the calendars you tick. Sunsama shows them as soon as it has them from Google.

Things to know

Connect Google Calendar → Free during beta.

Does Sunsama have a travel time feature?

No. Sunsama imports your meetings and lets you timebox tasks around them, but it does not look up a trip or add travel time. It is an open request on its roadmap. DOFOTT adds the blocks to your Google Calendar, and Sunsama displays them.

Do I need to install anything in Sunsama?

No. DOFOTT connects to your Google account once. Sunsama already reads that account, so the blocks appear on their own.

I use Sunsama with Outlook or iCloud. Does this work?

Not yet. DOFOTT works with Google Calendar accounts. If Sunsama shows several, only the Google calendars get travel blocks.

Is DOFOTT free?

Free during beta. When a paid plan comes, you get 30 days' notice by email, and the blocks already in your calendar stay.
